Clover's Log
The heist to recover the last dragon scale will happen in a few days, the night before we’re set to meet my father. For now, we have other business to attend to. Nesbit told us about the weird things he saw behind the loose sewer grate, so Brendel, Nyx, Oman, and I decide to check it out. I can lead us right back to the spot, but it will take a few hours. Perhaps whatever “clockwork stuff” he saw relates to our other business and can be of use.
Unlike last time we were here, there’s a major Legionnaire presence. A particularly chatty guard who may or may not be drunk, if his changeable accent is any indication, informs us there has been a prison break, and ever since threats have been emerging from the sewers, mostly undead and those poop monsters we fought. I don’t know if our escape is what caused this, but it’s another thing to look into. As luck would have it, the guards are only there to keep things from getting out of the sewer, not getting in, so they let us down. Whether they will let us back out remains to be seen since the shift change is coming, and the guard doesn’t think having a “safe word” will get us far with the next crew.
As we begin our descent, Oman pauses near the top of the ladder and appears to be talking to himself, but I catch a flash of a figure whispering to him and then running…on the ceiling?...before disappearing entirely. Oman tells us the mystery man came to tell him he hasn’t been keeping up on his correspondence. This seems like an odd explanation, but other than saying he doesn’t like the fellow, Oman doesn’t seem open to much more of a revelation. He's lost a bit of his eloquence anyway and appears to be struggling with some newfound power. His hair, however, seems extra shiny, at least.

As we work our way through the sewers, we’re stopped a couple times by the creatures working their way out of the sewers: first some undead created by a Bone Knight, then some type of experimental elemental creations the League may have something to do with. Nyx was curious about how different elements affected them. Fire made them grow, ice had less effect than it should, lightning worked well. Nyx also discovered that lightning works well against Brendel, having shot a Lightning Bolt through him during the fight with the Bone Knight. At least all I gave him was a little shock.
We’re getting close to the loose grate but still have some distance to cover. We’ll see what else awaits us in the muck.
