Let's Meet the Team!
Our group has created a diverse and, let's be honest, barely cohesive team of adventurers to take on all that Rift City has to throw their way.
Nyx
Aasimar sorcerer
This young inventor uses her big brain to figure out the mechanics of new magic. She’s not thrilled about violence and seeks to avoid conflict when possible—partially because she’s wildly insecure about her abilities. She is more interested in learning and creating. Her blue magic and need to feel powerful have caused her to dub herself the Cerulean Flame of Rift City. She travels with her friend/bodyguard, a Warforged named Keys.
Keys
Warforged barbarian
Our dear Warforged has an awful tendency to shut down in the middle of a mission, but when he's awake, he's always ready to fight. His memory has been wiped, and he only remembers the last couple years with Nyx. He has started to have visions from what seems to be his past life—before the Shattering, when everyone called him Striker—though he’s having trouble piecing things together. There is still too much missing time, too many gaps. Perhaps our mission to restore the Warforged to their former glory will help.
Oman
Tiefling bard
Our bard feels most comfortable in the deceitful world of politics. His silver tongue makes him an ideal negotiator and spinner of tales, but battle finds him out of his element. He’d much rather join a noble’s dinner party and hash out the topics of the day than face down an aberration wreaking havoc in the sewers. Nevertheless, the more time he spends with his new companions, the more he adapts to his circumstances.
Ronan
Human ranger
This sociopath lacks the ability to connect with anyone unless they provide him with candy. Even then, the connection is weak. The exception is Oman, whom he has been traveling with for some time and who is his biggest defender (“He’s good people”). The evidence to back this up has yet to show itself, but Ronan has proven himself capable when the party is in danger, even when he is the reason the party is in danger (which is often).
Brendel
Dwarf cleric
This master of metalworking is a budding blacksmith who has developed a bond with the party's monk, Clover, who repeatedly sought his help forging keys to open a mysterious box she obsessively carries with her. Brendel is both a capable warrior and a literal lifesaver in battle. His proficiency with both hammer and magic make him an invaluable companion who will put it all on the line to see his companions through anything they encounter.
Clover
Tabaxi monk
Given up by her parents shortly after her birth, Clover grew up in what’s left of the forest at the edge of Rift City and was raised by her uncle. She knows nothing about her parents, so her quest to find them, and open the box they left her, has been her driving force. Now that she’s found a makeshift family in her adventuring party, she is more determined than ever to find answers that will set the world right again. This determination occasionally prompts her to follow dangerous impulses.
Where we stand
Though the party has yet to settle into a solid rhythm, trust is building day by day, especially now that their quest has sent them out into the Rift itself. Clover finally has a lead on her father, who has apparently been a leading figure in the mission to restore the Warforged, and she convinced her friends to traverse the aberration-ridden wastelands to find answers. Everything they thought they knew has been turned on its head ever since. The Good Lady is the enemy, the Church is covering it all up, all of the races they’ve been taught to fear—goblins, elves, trolls—are innocent. Oh yeah, and the tabaxi race is from another planet entirely. Let the adventures continue.
